Never be deceived that the rich will permit you to vote away their wealth.
-Lucy Parsons

The answers to the problems of the world are simple.
They're just a lot of work.

Be Healthy.

Think.

Learn.

Organize.

Act.

(We are evolved to exist in 100 person tribes. We need to exist as a 6 billion person tribe.)
(How can technology be used to make that work easier?)
(What are the most effective things we can do to create a better world?)

Be Healthy.

3/30/2008

No rush.
Slow and steady.

It's a lot of work to eat well.
Being healthy is almost impossible.
Establishing routines is everything.
Figure it out, then teach the kids.
Forgive your parents.

In modern society it's more productive to sacrifice your health and rely on modern medicine than to maintain good health.
But what are you producing?
Is it worth it?
Do you even know what a healthy old person is like?
It's really just a matter of preference, though we should be thoroughly educated about what different lives are like.
Step into my rapid life simulation machine.
You never found love, and were profoundly lonely, because you never cared to figure out how to relate to people.
Lexapro didn't help.

2/6/2008

Be motivated. Resist feeling depressed, hopeless, powerless.

Think.

3/30/2008

Be intelectually disciplined. Decide what's important. Choose how focused, or how open to free association, you want to be.

2/6/2008

Reflect on the past. Generate ideas for the future. Make decisions.

Ask good questions.

Learn.

3/30/2008

Assume that you have a lot to learn about things that seem simple, like how to read, write, have a conversation.

Surround yourself with people you respect.

Professional authors are full of shit. Read articles by and interviews with people who actually do things.

Organize.

3/30/2008

All lasting positive change requires strong community.

Mainstream culture in the United States is massively destructive to community (on purpose).

People in power will use whatever means neccesary to disrupt communities whose members have more allegiance to eachother than to their rulers.

Communities are fragile, they are vastly easier to destroy than to build.

Can we be intentional about addressing these issues without being nerds?

Act.

3/30/2008

What are the best things to spend different amounts of money on?
What do people spend money on?

Surviving.
Building infrastructure.
Whims.

What infrastructure will be most useful to your community?

2/6/2008

Broad categories of actions:

Prepare for impending societal changes.

Reform.

Destroy dysfunctional parts of society.

Create alternatives.

Address symptoms.

Invent, try new ideas.

---
Attributes of actions:
Societal acceptability, legality, risk of external intervention, severity of punishment.

Co-hosted a nice party last night in Providence. Considering commiting to helping create at least one big event a month for the rest of my life.
Been away from the computer for a while, and about to go away again until around the 11th. Good to have some space from this project.
The current idea of this site is a page to look at, and to begin thinking from. A reminder of past conclusions and ideas. A motivational and clarifying tool. Potentially a tool for organizing ideas and deciding between them.
Currently, it's really only made for myself. I'm going to keep that focus for the time being.

Interesting news about  internet connections to the middle east being severed is being stuck in the middle of the Jensen page.

I'm getting a better idea of what this site should be. You can pretty directly see the thought process in these recent posts. Taking my inclination towards consolidating and sharing useful information, and focusing on the most effective ideas in anti-capitalist terms. From now on I'm going to try out only developing content that would have an "anti-capitalist effectiveness rating" of 5 (out of ten) or better.  The other info will end up on an unrelated personal page.

In the works are pages about:
-How to hire an assassin (and maybe: how to become one, get jobs as one, and avoid being killed by one)
-Building local revolutionary community.

The "main body of the site" or "categorized big list of ideas" is coming along. It's a lot of tedious work, but should be interesting.

welcome to stealfromtherich.org

this domain was registered on 1/19/08.

this website is currently the full time project of one person. it may evolve over time to be a collaborative project.

currently on the internet there is no good or comprehensive collection of ideas for how to challenge power.

hopefully, over time, regardless of the success of this particular site, that gap will be filled. this content is being generated with that end in mind.

everything here is original work and should be considered in the public domain. copy and adapt any or all of it as you see fit.

i am currently interested in finding, and figuring out the best ways to create a more equal, democratic, egalitarian, world. i am going to consider every option.

briefly:
on stealing from the rich. on stealing.
-if you are living in the united states, you are by definition stealing from much of the rest of the world (developing world, global south, china, india, etc.).
-if you believe in equality, what degree of financial inequality do you think should be allowed?
-the most righteous theft is from the richest person?
-don't feel threatened by these ideas because your dad is a doctor or whatever. doctors, lawyers, are just the highest paid servants of the ruling class.
